To empty the dirt tank, first turn off the machine and press the tank release button on the front to remove the tank from the hand vacuum. Grab the middle grip of the filter and pull upward to activate the wiping feature that cleans the mesh filter screen; twisting the grip will remove the filter alone. Fully remove the separator and tap the mesh screen against the side of a trash bin, then empty the dirt tank. Slide the separator back into place, ensuring the notch is correctly aligned, and reattach the tank by guiding the bottom into the hook and pushing it securely into the hand vacuum. For cleaning and replacing the pre-motor filter, always clean it after each use for optimal performance. Turn off the machine, remove the dirt tank, and twist the top to detach the filter frame from the separator. Remove the filter from the frame and tap it against a trash bin to remove debris. Rinse it under warm water, squeeze out any dirt, and allow it to dry completely for 24 hours. Once dry, reinsert the filter into the frame with the tag side touching the frame.
